ICN took part in the inaugural Smart Cities New York City Expo on Tuesday 2 May – Friday 5 May 2017 in conjunction with the delegation “Meet the Nordics” in New York, United States. In addition to participation from the ICN Secretariat and members from CLEAN, a number of companies, innovation agencies and other cleantech organizations from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland were present at the delegation. The Expo held many interesting exhibitions, discussions and side events, showcasing the state of art of the development of the American Smart City sector. The trip also provided an occasion to celebrate the Memorandum of Understanding between Urban Future Lab and ICN at a networking event on Thursday evening. Urban Future Lab hosts the ACRE incubator which allows for ICN SMEs to have a fast-track application procedure when applying for a place at the incubator, while companies from the incubator can use the ICN Passport service at members of ICN.
