New networks to bring Asia to Copenhagen
Jan 13, 2011

In December, CCC's partner, Copenhagen Capacity, attended the Danish Minister of Foreign affairs, Lene Espersen's, official business delegation to India together with representatives from, among others, Danfoss, Vestas, Terma, Inbicon and Novozymes. The aims were to establish networks on the cleantech area and to attract Asian companies to Copenhagen.

- The Asian cleantech markets and the economies in general currently experience significant growth rates, and over time, we are confident that this growth will result in a development, which will make the region look towards the Danish market because of our expertise in the fields of cleantech. This applies both to acquisitions and investments, and therefore, we would like to be prepared and start building up networks to strengthen our position and help us get a share of the investments, which we are gradually starting to see," Jakob Elmer, business manager at Copenhagen Capacity, explains.

Indian interest in Denmark
During the three-day trip, Jakob Elmer met with a number of Indian companies, all of which expressed a great interest in Denmark. He estimates that many of them eventually will invest in Denmark.

- India has many companies focusing on cleantech solutions and products, and with a desire to enter the European market. In the foreseeable future, we will see an increased investment rate from India to Denmark, and Copenhagen has many things to offer here.

India is the world's fifth largest economy and has an increasing need for new solutions regarding energy supply and security, monitoring of energy and more climate-friendly products.
