From 12-16 October the COSME consortium travelled with 12 European organisations to Shanghai, China as part of the first China mission of the EC2i project. The purpose was to serve as both a stepping stone into the Chinese market for these companies but also for the more concrete business opportunities which arose during the numerous business-to-business meetings held during the Nanjing CleanConnect conference.
On the first day of the mission the Swedish SME’s of the delegation took first, second and third place at the EU-China cleantech competition to the tune of 10K, 7K and 3K Euros respectively. Following this competition, the party visited the Yixing industrial park and met with a specialised foreign SME accelerator before travelling on to the CleanConnect conference.
Completion of this China mission marks the end of the first leg of the project, following the first matchmaking mission to the US earlier this year. For 2019, the COSME consortium will once more be organising matchmaking missions to China and the US.
